Dear peaceables -

I don't have time to send out a full digest right now, but wanted to share these calls to action with you.   It's almost entirely absent from the mainstream media, but  there is a massive movement urging our political leaders to demand an immediate ceasefire in the Middle East.  http://www.ceasefirecampaign.org/   I also include some links to some of the organizations doing humanitarian assistance - most will accept donations online.

Shalom, salaam, peace.
Chris

Calls to Action

Physicians for Global Survival is one of many groups that have written the Prime Minister urging him to support a call for an immediate ceasefire in the  Middle East.

As is Oxfam.

There will also be a rally on Parliament Hill on Saturday to the same end.

As civilian casualties continue to mount, the Canadian Red Cross is calling on Canadians to donate generously.

Médecins sans Frontières (MSF) continues to offer humanitarian assistance in southern Lebanon.

UNICEF struggles to get assistance to the children - "Delivering humanitarian assistance to the nearly 1 million people displaced by the conflict or trapped in remote areas is a daunting task due to continual fighting and the nearly complete destruction of transport infrastructure.

My friend and peace exemplar, Alma Norman, sent me this link after I sent out the last digest, about Jewish and Arab women in Ottawa marching together for peace. Alas, the link now shows restricted access, so I'll post the text here.
